On October 10th, 2019, LIFE ECOGRANULARWATER (LIFE16 ENV/EN/196) project organized the technical conference entitled: Biological methods for the elimination of nitrates and pesticides from water for human consumption.
The first part of the day was dedicated to the LIFE ECOGRANULARWATER project including several presentations in which the most relevant results were showed. The second part of the day was dedicated to the exchange of experiences of different LIFE projects, all of them focused on the treatment of groundwater for human consumption.
The projects that participated in the exchange of experiences, in addition to LIFE ECOGRANULARWATER, were: LIFE LIBERNITRATE Project about the reduction of nitrates in the integral water cycle, presented by Mr. Ángel Madrid from the Energy Area of the Consortium of La Ribera – Valencia ; LIFE InSiTRATE project about the technology for the in situ production of drinking water from groundwater contaminated by nitrates, presented by Ms. Irene Jubany, Head of soil and groundwater projects at Eurecat – Technological Center of Catalonia; and finally, LIFE ALCHEMIA project about the removal of natural radioactivity in supply waters, presented by Mr. Francisco Javier Martínez Rodríguez from the Urban Infrastructure Service of the Department of Development and Water of the Project’s partner DIPALME
